Avocado Oil

If you’ve never tried avocado oil you may be surprised. Even though Avocado is technically a fruit, you can use this as you would any vegetable oil.

Its taste is most often described as mild, slightly grassy, delicate and somewhat buttery although that may speak more to its consistency.

An organic, extra-virgin, unrefined, avocado oil has gone through minimum processing. But, be aware that naturally refined avocado oil has a milder flavor. With an unrefined oil you’ll taste more avocado.

If you’re wondering how avocado oil nutritionally measures up to olive oil the profiles are very close. In particular, they’re both rich in beneficial monounsaturated fats. Both avocado oil and olive oil have numerous health benefits, are rich in antioxidants, promote skin health, and boost the absorption of nutrients. Avocado oil has a higher smoke point than olive oil and may be better suited for high-heat cooking and grilling.
